Our Summer 2009 presentation evening for Playing for Success was held on the very balmy evening of the 2nd July 2009. The young people from Cedar Road, Sunnyside, Parklands, Kingsthorpe Grove, Hardingstone, Denton, Grendon, Yardley Hastings, Cogenhoe and Little Houghton primary schools came with members of their family and friends and representatives from the schools were also invited.
The evening was hosted by Centre Manager Yvonne Tervit who spoke about some of the activities that the young people had been doing over the last term, whilst a short slide show of pictures taken of the children throughout their time at the Study Centre was shown. We would like to thank players Ryan Cummins and Rob White for helping us out on the evening and speaking a few words of wisdom. The young people were then presented with a medal and certificate and had their photos taken with the players. Special certificates were given to schools for ‘best attendance’, ‘most improved’ etc; and finally Sunyside Primary children were awarded with Tickets for 1 child and 1 adult for this weeks match against the Tourists (Australia), for getting the most points over the term.
After the presentation there was a chance for everyone to speak to the players and staff and look at some of the work the children had produced.
All in all it was a wonderful evening. Each school has been given a disc with photos from the presentation evening and from the individual sessions and the childrens posters for display.
