As one of the key programmes delivered at Steelbacks Study Centre, the ‘Batting for Success’ programme uses the medium and environment of sport to raise pupil standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT as well as building self-esteem and self-confidence.

‘Batting for Success‘ provides selected 9 to 14 year-old pupils with access to an out-of-school-hours study experience that not only builds confidence and motivation, but also positively dovetails with personalised learning goals set in school. A menu of modules is available to ensure school needs are met.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To improve key skills through sport based literacy, numeracy and ICT
  • To improve confidence and self esteem
  • To improve skills in speaking, listening and understanding
  • To improve social skills such as teamwork, co-operation, communication and leadership

Cost: 15 pupils £1000 for 20 hours after school support over a term including presentation evening(transport costs not included)
